(Alexander Wang trench coat, Are You Am I tank, Vanessa Bruno lace skirt, Chanel bag)
(Zara mohair knit, Vanessa Bruno lace skirt, Balenciaga boots, Louis Vuitton Vivienne bag, Ray-ban sunglasses)
From beautiful summery Paris last week – I went lace skirt rampaging throughout the city and fell in love with this olive silk Vanessa Bruno one upon sight from across the street from her boutique in Le Marais. I wore it with the actual last item I threw in my bags when I was getting ready to leave LA – so meant to be.
During NYFW after the Thakoon show – that day I went for a classic slipdress/choker combo and Alexander Wang most everything else. Right after exiting the venue we came across first a casual street horse then a truck blocking all traffic with ease on a street probably more fit for the horse. SO FUN. I’m still deciding how to feel about Wang’s spring ’15 waist barcodes and torso sneakers but what I do know is this trench coat makes everything better.
(Mason by Michelle Mason romper, Isabel Marant Holden slides, Ray-ban sunglasses)
This Mason by Michelle Mason romper is the ultimate easy piece..in my head it makes sense everywhere from the beach to a dinner with people you haven’t seen in a while. I love it dressed down with a hideous pool slide or -stock. Happy Labor day America!
(Acne dress, Chloé sandals, Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream)
In collaboration with Marc Jacobs, I shot this series in Santa Monica to show my take on a free and dreamy vibe. Decided not to take this opportunity not to roll around in grass and instead shot these just after it got dark on the beach. Perfect 80 degree summer nights are the best thing about thousand degree days so it’s good to maximize those. I love this new version of Marc’s Daisy along with their idea of creating a dream capsule around it. Create your own capsule here and you’ll get it back in a year’s time! You’ll probably smile upon receipt.
Condé Nast Traveler sent us to Maui for a long weekend of endless beaches, sticky volcanic sand, and consumption of coconuts in all forms possible. I love wearing dusty neutrals and nudes in the summer and this was the perfect time to break out my Minimale Animale bikini and Mason silk dress (which yes came back to life after taking a lot of saltwater from all angles) as well as Van Cleef & Arpels’ Gold Charms Watch. The last day we spent milling around on the Wailea side and I forced Chris to stop on the side of the road so I could sneak up on a crazy sweet old couple and interrupt their fishing/reading silent bliss hangout to take a photo of their license plate. They caught me red handed which was cool cause then they told me the story of how they left Big Sur in the ’70s for the islands and from then on couldn’t imagine living anywhere else, or selling the most wanted vanity plate in the lands. Which I love so much. Maui tip – buy picnic supplies at Mana Foods in Paia and then spend most of your time on Big Beach cause it’s a good place to be at every single time of day.
(Reformation Gemini top and Malin skirt, Louis Vuitton Vivienne bag, Chloé mules)
Tasseled two piece (how scary does that sound though) for a blazing hot Friday in LA. Celebrated the end of the week over jalapeño infused tequila and guacamole mostly because tomorrow’s going to be spent packing and preparing for 15 hours in the air. Can’t wait to be back in Hong Kong!
I’m lucky enough to have made this my third trip to Morocco in a year’s time. Not something I would have predicted happening or even being possible but the beauty and otherworldliness of this country is addictive. I’ve visited Marrakech, Rabat, Casablanca, and the Atlas Mountains which means next to explore are Tangiers and Essaouira. The warmth of the people, the storied surroundings, the Californian-friendly climate and palm tree frequency, the ORANGE JUICE. Solid combination. Here are some of my recommendations on how to experience cool things there.
And yeah can’t wait to go back.
I’m so excited that the sunglasses I designed in collaboration with Sunday Somewhere are now available on Netaporter! Such a proud moment. I really wanted to make the details special, to have them stand out from the average pair and we did just that with rose gold detailing, an all leather option, and matte metallics. Shop Paris, Tokyo, and see the whole collection here.
