Overalls shopping is wild card city so I mostly don’t do it. However, I’m not zoned out enough to not notice when the right pair finally appears. I love that these have the boyfriend fit thing figured out as well as that criss cross bleach-happy wash. I mucked around like so for a weekend afternoon at the Ace downtown waiting for people to ask me to paint stuff and got nothing. All this can mean is that everyone everywhere is ok with all in one denim! So exciting.
(Vanessa Bruno sweater, Stone Cold Fox Bolas dress, Theory muff bag, Céline platforms and sunglasses, Miansai bracelet)
One of those all-my-favorite-things-at-once outfits. Because slipdresses are the apparent cornerstone of my wardrobe, it’s important to source gigantic sloppy knits to balance them out with. This one was a lucky find during a warp speed browse at Printemps in January…the focus that can come with having two utterly bored male people waiting for you sure is something. I love the weight and volume of the sweater with SCF’s magical little mustard dress. I threw them on with my worn to death Theory bag (you guys know this thing is functional as a muff right cause yeah probably time you knew) and valid since ’10 Céline foot boats for another perfectly in-between LA day.
(H&M embroidered blouse, Current Elliott cutoff shorts, Goyard bag, Céline sunglasses and mules, Cartier and Line & Jo jewelry)
The formula I can’t quit – ivory button down and hacked up shorts. I love the low key bohemian touches on this blouse but kept the accessories clean to not go too far down that road. Shot in the fading light yesterday on Melrose after a five hours late lunch at Mauro’s Cafe.
(Céline navy silk camisole, Reformation shorts, Goyard pouch)
Happy New Year from actual paradise Costa Rica! Thank you for your support, wit, curiosity, and love this year and I can’t wait to see what 2014 brings!
(Isabel Marant for H&M tshirt, Isabel Marant skirt, Céline buckled mules and cuff, Goyard Saint Louis tote, OPI nail polish in Samoan Sand)
So lucky to have freakish 80 degree weather in LA this week cause something about the tshirt by itself option is such a relief. One of the angles I took when shopping the H&M collection with just the slightest bit of foaming at the mouth was buying every white tshirt in sight, including ones that were targeted at other genders. Cut and opacity-wise, there was a lot going on that was perfect. The rolled sleeve version is super ideal for dressing down this main line structured piece along with all things Goyard that came away from Paris fashion week with me.
Merry Christmas and happy holidays to my beloved readers!

From exactly one week ago post-Tokyo and pre-Paris, a fun day around Abbott Kinney to check on the old Pacific, lunch at Lemonade, and stop by the always well edited Satine Boutique. I wore a Frankenstein-y sort of outfit with a Socal casual top half and France-originating bottom half. I love this softer take on the Mexican poncho so well loved by surfers and every student everywhere in the nineties. The perfect piece to try and fail to stay warm in at the beach and also fit hats under because head-layering matters.
Arriving at Skylight at Moynihan Station, quite the beautiful traffic vortex, this place. It’s one of the more photogenic show venues in New York, what with the historic New York vibe contrasting against the stark industrial interior. Very important to set up coordinates of exactly where you’re going to meet your mode of transport afterwards otherwise you’ll probably perish wandering forlornly up and down 9th Avenue. Well, there are worse ways to go. You’ll at least have lots of company in the same boat.
See me equipped with my Sony Xperia Z tablet, my latest toy to keep me updated on the go. It sold itself on waterproof.
I really hope there was no almond butter on my face.
My pal Andrew Bevan escorted me in, which was my favorite. And hey, nice nude briefcase, Andrew, I like that.
Also my favorite was seeing beautiful Marie who I last met up with in Tokyo over the summer.
Fray in the front row.
Some of my favorite looks. Everything stiff and boxy is appealing to me right now, so that sheath dress is conversing with my soul. Same goes for the Lim-ified trench and duffle.
Sneaking out of the vortex.
Last shots in this outfit before dinner in the West Village. And finally the outfit details – Acne Mape biker jacket, Robert Rodriguez top, Étoile Isabel Marant foldover skirt, Céline wedges, Ray-ban Wayfarers, and Valentino monogrammed wrist clutch. Overall A+ afternoon.

I’m so loving these days in LA before fashion month, I’m making sure to soak it all in before leaving for Stockholm on Saturday. Part of this translates to slipdresses and stilts in the afternoon sunshine, part of it is trying to pitch weird versions of tents in my backyard. This Reformation dress might look familiar, I wore the black version of it for a good part of Coachella and life in general so the navy plaid seemed felt like a good way to stockpile. Shot by Echo Park’s beautiful but also haunted looking houses today.
