More fun with temporary dye. Friday I shot some looks with Elle Japan…for this set they wanted to take some ‘behind-the-scenes’ shots of Colin shooting me for an actual blog post in a fall look. Kind of a ridiculous sentence. The fact that it wasn’t even that hot wearing this really reminds me how warm this jacket isn’t, but it’s main purpose seems to be being bright orange so it’s okay. And hey at least when I tell my grandparents in Tokyo to pick up the issue they won’t be confronted with the blonde hair. Man I need to visit them soon.

Through sheer luck I stumbled across these legendary SS07 Balenciagas on eBay last week. I don’t know if it’s just me but shoes are just looking more and more the same thing with a couple extra straps allocated here or there, but even a couple years after their release these still have that extra something special to me. The Birkenstock-style sole and massive platform just kill me. After a 15 minute battle with the buckle (really um unique and secure design job there) and an hour or so of baby deer-like steps they’ve proven really walkable.
Aside from that, it’s a million degrees and I need to go find a pool or slither down to the beach now.
(vintage button down tunic, slipdress, and studded fringe scarf, Freedom for Topshop necklace, Aldo boots, Givenchy bag)
Somehow the fact that this tunic/shirt/whatever has deep slits at both the sides and back makes it that much better of a layering piece. I’ve been buying button down shirts and black denim shorts like crazy lately. It was a beautiful day in Little Italy, though the multitude of dog walkers made me feel deficient of a canine either extremely large and furry or ridiculously small and hairless to parade about. In a Kumo-less situation I’d probably go the German Shepherd route and name him something really good like “Charles” or “Dagger”. Just to clear that up.
Tonight it was yoga class, cleaning the living room, and half-watching Jerry Maguire while catching up on my magazine subscriptions. Being boring is amazing.
Between partying too hard last night and it being the hottest day of the summer yet, I couldn’t muster the energy to coordinate separates. I tried. The goal was to make it to a friend’s pool a few miles away but we ended up retreating home, making fresh salsa and lentil soup, and watching the sunset from the bedroom window. I really didn’t expect to get so attached to my now faded darker hair color..think I’m going to commit to it.
(Rayban aviators, layered Forever21 necklaces, vintage slipdress, Forever21 wrap cardigan, eBay claw ring, vintage stone ring, Noir crystal accented ring, Miu Miu wedges, Alexander Wang backpack)
My Miu Miu wedges which had to be ordered from the Seattle Nordstrom (sale pickings are slim apparently) arrived this week, and though Colin keeps on mistaking the pink shoebox they came in for a donut box and being met with disappontment every time, they’ve otherwise brought great happiness. I’ve been looking for patchwork done right for what feels like and probably isn’t ages now, and they are ittttt. Now to find myself something patchy in dress format before summer’s end and I will be a happy little pseudo-bohemian.
Hi to everyone that came over from Kenza’s blog after she made a sweet and kind of funny post about me. I’ve been following her blog since last spring when my dear Swedish readers told me I looked like her and that I had to check out my twin..let me just say I WISH hahah, the girl is gorgeous, as well as being really sweet. Colin’s judgment is that I look more like Jessica Alba and she looks more like Jessica Biel..hmm weird. I think we just have very similar coloring..but anyway nothing but love for Kenza.
