(vintage crushed velvet dress, Aldo sandals)
ETA: The shoes run true to size and are very comfortable
I was completely infatuated with this dress last spring but never thought that I would be so lucky as to wear it with these CHLOE BOOTS. Yes I have succumbed to the final remaining shaft height of the FW07 beauties. Ebay is truly a land where dreams come true. Now all I need to do is take a photograph of the three of them mating and set it as my iPhone backdrop for all eternity. Handily, it could also serve as a reminder that I need never shop again.
Maybe it was a good thing that I eased myself into the most extreme version of the shoe..wearing them kind of makes me feel like a bad ass 90s-centric video game character. This is, of course, a good thing. I’ve always thought that whoever the people are that design the outfits for video games had the coolest job ever. Even cooler than whoever comes up with all those ridiculous lipstick and nail polish color names.
PS I receive about ten emails a day about boots. Specifically, my Sam Edelmans and/or my Chloes, and where I got them. In an effort to save time for all involved, I got the Chloes on Yoox except for the above which were via Ebay, and the Edelmans also on Ebay. I don’t see any current Chloe Doc auctions but there’s pretty much always a scattering of the latter posted – right now, there’s a 7, a 7.5, and a 9. I hope that helps!

Playing around with Poladroid.
Sunday was an inexplicable 85 degrees so we took full advantage by riding bikes on the boardwalk before consuming the bounty of a trip to 7-Eleven on the sand. It was the first run on the beach cruiser that Colin got for me for Christmas, as well as a chance to revive this cheesy backless crochet top that I had in high school. One of the odd pieces I scrounged up at my parent’s house along with the white cutoffs.
I started this Converse studding project back in October but then got annoyed by my inability to line the studs up and shoved the whole thing into a closet..until last week when I forced myself to finish the damn things during a Man VS Wild marathon so they wouldn’t go to waste. Now to scuff them up with a few more splashes of rank water in the streets tossed up through the spokes and I should be good..
(vintage faux fur and necklace, Erin x RVCA tshirt, Urban Outfitters corset bra, Zara belt, Forever 21 knit armwarmers, Alexander Wang backpack, Chloe boots)
The last of Norcal, back to beaches and palm trees now. I forced Colin to let me take a few photos of him in his parka..kinda wish I had one like it for some furry hood action of my own. This belt is pretty much the only thing I bought up here but I will soon be making up for that one with a little online purchase..heh heh.
(Forever 21 lace dress, Sam Edelman boots)
Wow I think I was wearing lip gloss for once here.
Random shot from the hotel..we stayed at the Hotel Kabuki and I’m only half sure that our room was haunted. As we were about to check out, I asked Colin if he got a weird vibe from our room and got a rather vocal “YOU TOO?”…after which he added that he hadn’t wanted to freak me out by saying something about it earlier. He could not know me any better.
Nice gardens though.
AND if you’re in Japantown seriously try Jitlada Thai on Buchanan and get the mango salad and red curry scallops. Freakishly good.
(Urban Outfitters cardigan, vintage fur scarf, Forever 21 necklace, Kate Moss for Topshop wet look jeans, Bakers Boots)
I’m tempted to Rodarte-ify this cardigan but want to get a few more wears out of it before that particular potential disaster.
Visited one of my favorite stores in Berkeley, Slash, which is basically just a tiny room with piles and piles of vintage Levi’s and a good amount of army surplus gear. Fun if you’re in the mood to really dig. One of my best friends in high school introduced it to me back in the day and we used to spend hours trying to find the ultimate Levi’s. We’d do all kinds of obnoxious things like switch wardrobes for the week so that no one could tell us apart from the back and wear inappropriately strappy platforms to assembly. Shout out to Anne!
I ended up just getting a green meshy hooded jacket. The salesgirl informed me that the material it’s made of is bugproof..or something. I didn’t inquire further, but it can’t hurt, right?
(Forever 21 jacket, Blue Notch scarf, Kain black shirt, Topshop patent leather skinnies, Chloe shoes, Alexander Wang backpack)
Did some lackluster shopping in Union Square..all that anticipation to stock up on 100 dens at H&M and a blingy Zara belt. Well and try on a ridiculous pair of Givenchy cross-strap wedges on sale at Barney’s. No size 7 and a still off-putting price tag said that one wasn’t meant to be. Which is fine, because in reality I’m more excited about the second season of The Tudors being released on DVD…TOMORROW.
A hi to reader Jo who snapped a pic of Colin and I on Powell street!
Not being assimilated:
(random horns left over from a friend’s Halloween costume years ago that I found in my old room, American Apparel dress and Chloe boots, later added Target sheer tights and leather gloves, vintage coat, Blue Notch scarf, Alexander Wang backpack)
God I’ve been such horrible blogger lately..blame it on traveling and Colin’s laptop suddenly getting a virus that has rendered it useless. Probably a sign that it’s time to invest in that Macbook. Now that I have a few fleeting seconds on my mom’s desktop I can finally catch up a bit. Thank you so much for all the sweet New Year’s wishes and I hope you all had a great one. Mine involved a lot of drinking in our hotel room (Ketel Mango Calpico anyone?), a rooftop party, and a TWO MILE WALK BACK in the crazy San Francisco cold. Damn the no cabs at 2am problem rearing its ugly head. Good thing Chloe makes comfortable boots.
