Damn! Guess I’ll have to return when it opens.
Headband, Urban Outfitters. Shirt, Kain.
Walking around Soho, petting enormous dogs.
Vest and shorts, vintage. Boots, Zara and vintage.
Perching on the windowsill of our hotel in Brooklyn, watching the rain come down.
Shirt, vintage. Skirt and tights, Forever 21.
Walking around by the water in Williamsburg, beautiful sky…
Blazer, H&M. Shorts, vintage. Shirt, Leg Avenue.
My new favorite vintage shirt, with my totally overworn shorts and studded Colin Stuart boots.
Colin wanted to make sure to see the Statue of Liberty while we were there..after all the stores and fashion stuff I dragged him around to, saying I owed it to him is an understatement.
Miss you already New York!
I was so happy to run into Naomi from Teen Vogue on Thursday at the RVCA presentation, who is just the sweetest girl ever and gave me some awesome California girl in New York tips that were most definitely put to use. And to top it off, she invited me over to the Teen Vogue HQ, which is obviously an offer I couldn’t turn down.
Colin and I cabbed to Times Square in the rain on Tuesday, felt like complete impostors talking to the people at the Conde Nast front desk, and made it to the right floor only after first taking the wrong elevator (hey there were a lot to choose from). It was a relief to see Naomi’s smiling face coming out of those glass doors, and a little surreal to be taking a tour of the offices of one of my favorite magazines in existence. We walked the hallways outside Amy Astley’s office, met some fabulously dressed Teen Voguers, and even got to check out the accessories closet in a complete daze as Colin snapped photos of my slack-jawed self. Naomi gently guided us away and we went down to Bryant Park to get some coffee and talk about anything and everything..turns out we both had all kinds of questions to ask each other. All in all an amazing experience – thank you Naomi for being the perfect hostess!
Chatting with Andrew Bevan..LOVE this man, he’s so much fun. It seems he had just been shot by Altamira NYC in his masterfully rain-appropriate outfit and sweet buckled boots.
I made Naomi pose cheesily with me in her gorgeous Alexander Wang dress and DIY necklace.
Hmm Colin seemed more apt to document the men’s clothes.
Then we of course had to document each other in Bryant Park. Colin wears a Ralph Lauren blazer, American Apparel V-neck, Gap jeans, secondhand belt, Vans, and Spy sunglasses.
Me in vintage Tshirt, collar, and cuff, Erin Wasson x RVCA blazer, Forever 21 skirt, Promiscuous heels, Target socks, Urban Outfitters men’s hat, and Givenchy bag.
On the way over to Erin’s…
Erin getting the girls ready, wearing what she later confirmed were fringed shorts. Rad.
The clothes waiting to be debuted, with LD Tuttle‘s feathered cutout boots lined up on the floor.
The perfect place to chill.
Talking to Erin, Josh, and Michelle, a model from Napa Valley (woohoo Bay Area) that was as hilarious as she was down to earth.
Colin letting Arthur borrow his shades. Okay fine they were Michelle’s. Arthur is a good time. Plus he donated all the organic vegetables for the catering at the party. Aww.
Mickey Avalon bitches.
Mmmm silver shorts.
He works for RVCA Australia, his girlfriend was wearing the sickest leather shorts but of course you can’t see them here. Damnit.
Erin in the moment.
RVCA Design Director Kristin and I surveying the scene from a height that probably wasn’t such a good idea in those shoes. I feel like we could get into a lot of trouble together.
Thanks to Colin and Nate for taking so many crazy pictures and to RVCA and Erin again for..everything.
What I clomped around the city in for Colin’s Trek that took us from Brooklyn to Battery Park to Soho to Chelsea to East Harlem and back again. It finally became chilly enough in the city for tights, and I grabbed this weird wrap thing instead of my leather jacket before we left the hotel (ooh and we were able to make reservations for the last few days at Nu Hotel in Brooklyn, which I highly highly recommend, I mean come on some of the rooms have hammocks in them). I bought it in the old woman section of Marshalls right before we left as a kind of pseudo-blanket for the plane but I’ve found it to be addictively cozy. Definitely the closest thing to a poncho I’ve ever owned. I’m pretty sure I’m not wearing it right in that last photo…the long ends become hard to manage after a few drinks.
Dress, American Apparel. Tights, Forever 21 from last winter. Wedges, Chloe. Backpack, vintage Chanel.
Sorry I’m behind, the last few days have been crazier than I could have imagined. Saturday brought with it rain that was pretty much torrential, but who really cares, it was the day of the Alexander Wang show that, thanks to Erin, my boyfriend and I were able to attend. Right when we arrived, I was snapped by Scott Schuman, whose work was miraculously unaffected by the weather conditions. It felt pretty surreal walking in and seeing all the beautiful people in action.
Obviously, Alex’s shows are always jaw-droppingly fresh, but this was taken to a whole new level. I would die for every last piece, and the shoes that we were all so excited to see previews of looked ridiculously good stomping down the runway. Suddenly needing: oversized sleeveless hoodie, sleekly slouchy sweatpants, mesh everything, muted pastels, demolished sweaters, and..more crop tops.
I promise to post more of Erin’s preview soon, there are so many amazing shots from that night that it’s hard to narrow them down, I just wanted to attempt to be at least sort of up to date.
Mark Hunter’s snap of me –
Oh and my clothes – vintage jacket and dress, Chloe shoes, and a friggin vintage Chanel backpack that my boyfriend got for me as an uhhh early birthday present at Resurrection. I fully blame this on Tucson John (the lovely posing with me, Erin, and Noot in my previous post), who we ran into on Friday in Soho after he had just come from there and pointed us in the right direction. THANK YOU TUCSON.
All photographs were taken by my boyfriend Colin, who apologizes for the first couple of blurry photos but man the rain complicates things.
